Duties
1) To monitor the application and approval process of environmental officer documents.
2) To follow up the applications for the qualification certificate of environmental consultancy firms and the approval process.
3) To follow the application and approval process for Environmental Management Units.
4) To monitor the works and procedures regarding the environmental officer exam and to prepare the necessary protocols.
5) To follow up the works and procedures that need to be carried out during the certification process for environmental officers and environmental consultancy companies.
6) To inspect certified environmental officers, environmental management units and environmental consultancy firms within the framework of the legislation.
7) Where it is deemed necessary, to provide training before the environmental officer exam and at regular intervals to those who receive the environmental officer certificate.
8) To monitor and evaluate national and international developments in the fields within its field of duty.
9) To examine and finalize EIA Certificate of Competence requests.
10) To monitor, control and supervise the institutions and organizations that have received EIA Qualification Certificate.
11) In terms of protecting the environment and preventing environmental pollution;
a) To determine, implement and ensure the implementation of procedures and principles regarding Environmentally Friendly Products and Services.
b) To carry out the necessary studies regarding the establishment of Environmental Management Systems, to determine the procedures and principles accordingly, to implement and to ensure their implementation.
12) On issues related to and related to Environment Friendly Products and Services and Environmental Management Systems;
a) To monitor and evaluate national, regional and international developments / studies and EU studies.
b) To carry out studies in order to determine the plans, programs, policies and strategies accordingly.
c) To ensure the implementation of relevant plans, programmes, policies and strategies.
13) For matters related to Environment Friendly Products and Services and Environmental Management Systems, to ensure the development and dissemination of its implementation in cooperation with the relevant unit, institution / organization, sector, business, non-governmental organizations.
14) To carry out informative and awareness-raising activities for the public on issues related to Environmentally Friendly Products and Services and Environmental Management Systems.
15) To identify the qualification requirements of the institutions / organizations that will work on the control of soil pollution and point source contaminated areas and the persons who will work in these institutions / organizations, to examine and finalize their qualification applications.
16) To determine the qualification requirements of the institutions / organizations that will work in the risk assessment and emergency response plan preparation and the persons who will work in these institutions / organizations, to examine and finalize their qualification applications.
17) To determine the qualification requirements of the institutions / organizations that will work as a verifying institution and the persons who will work in these institutions / organizations, to examine and finalize their applications.
18) To carry out inspections on soil pollution, risk assessment and auditing the institutions / organizations that have been granted a certificate of competence as a notified body, within the framework of the applicable legislation
19) When necessary, to provide training to the institutions / organizations that have been given soil pollution, risk assessment and verification body competence certificates and the people working in these institutions / organizations,
20) To fulfill similar duties assigned by the General Manager.
